The Kubrick Theory
Moon landing conspirators believe the filming of the moon landing was faked, then who filmed it? Many have come to believe that the famous director Stanley Kubrick filmed the whole thing. There are a few reasons this director in particular has come to be thought of as the filmer of the moon hoax. After his sci-fi film "2001: A Space Odyssey" Kubrick was the perfect candidate to film a fake moon landing.
Why People Believe
People believe that Kubrick filmed the moon landing for many reasons. After his great successes with "2001" and the filming techniques he used there, he was an easy choice for a moon landing. Kubrick used a technique called front screen projection. Front screen projection was accomplished by making a projection that appeared behind the actors. The key to this was in the screen which is made of a material called scotchlite. Scotchlite is made of thousands of tiny glass beads that are extremely reflective. This allowed for a scene to seem much more vast and expansive than it actually is. It was believed that this was used for the moon landing because when you look closely at a photo you can see where the set and the screen meet. (Reality Sandwich)
The line in the picture in the middle shows where the screen and set meet on the set of "2001: A Space Odyssey." The one on the right shows where conspiracists believe the screen and set meet for the moon landing. They believe this because on one side of the line they drew you can see every stone and more details, on the other there are few stones and no noticeable features.
Another reason conspiracists believe Kubrick filmed the landing comes from references from his film "The Shinning". If you pay close attention during the movie you can see many NASA and Apollo mission references. In one scene Danny gets up from playing with toys. As he rises you see his sweater chich depicts a rocket that clearly say Apollo 11 on it. He then proceeds to walk to room 237. The average distance from the earth to the moon is 237,000 miles.

Why The Landing Could Not Have Been Faked
In this video an experienced filmmaker talks about how the moon landing could not have been faked.
He talks about how the technology of 1969 was far too behind to allow for the moon landing to be faked. In order to film the astronauts in space the way they did it would have to have been filmed in slow motion. This would have been nearly impossible at the time. He goes into some detail about how the lighting and perspective of some of the videos and pictures are not faked. He goes on to talk about how hard it would be to put together the reels it would take to film the landing without them having a single flaw that would instantly show they are fake.
Another Theory
Another theory of the film is that we did go to the moon, but what we saw was done in a studio. This theory is not as common as full on hoax or actually happened, but it is still believed
